Massive thanks for all the beautiful bunting you created and decorated our town with.

Hand crafted and stitched by our local hands, each flag was unique and fun. From CFS volunteers, retirement unit residents, nursing home residents, school kids, neighbours, clubs, businesses and young families, it's was a real community effort.

Bunting symbolises community connection, the threads that tie us all together, and we couldn't be more proud of winning Best Dressed Town for the Stage 3 Men’s TDU Race. Thank you!

Our town looked beautiful decorated with bikes, wheels, flags and ribbons of all colours, textures and styles. We couldn't not have done it without all of your involvement.

But for us it's the behind the scenes stories that matter most.

Since December residents at Summerhill took part in weekly crafting sessions to make bunting. Making the bunting became a source of laughter, connection, and social engagement, as well as a valuable opportunity to nurture fine motor skills and coordination. Must read article: https://www.claytonhomes.com.au/news/summerhill-resident-bunting-tour-down-under/

The Summertown CFS team used old uniforms and recycled fabric to craft using a no sew technique and make bunting for their building.

A group of delightful ladies from the Kindey Street retirement villages used kilos of donated fabric and together crafted masterpiece bunting which has been donated to businesses and private homes to make sure our whole town looked the part. They have called themselves the bunting babes.

Our working bees were attended by people of all ages with experienced sewers lending a hand to younger ones and the result, bright and bountiful bunting. Thanks to all the bike wheel, hoola hoop, ribbon and fabric donations.

Community pride. From the GP, pharmacy, tractor shop, wineries, family day care, CFS, plumbing, post office, cafes, bakery and pub. The whole mainstreet took their own spin on bunting and decorated with care and pride.

So from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for the effort and time you took to participate in this community connection campaign.
