Karra Watta Community Cafe’

Free monthly community lunch

Karra Watta Café is a free community lunch held monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Summit Community Centre.

The Karra Watta Café is a community project that offers a simple, nutritious, and free meal for guests, with beautiful hills-to-ocean views over Adelaide.

“This is what communities are about. Every community has sub-communities and I’m glad I’m part of this one.” Sue MacGregor.

The name Karra Watta is an acknowledgement of the Norton Summit area’s traditional clan group “Karra Watta” of the Peramangk Nation, and the Café was opened with a Welcome to Country by Peramangk Elder Ivan Copley.

Bookings can be made by calling 8390 0457 or emailing TheSummit@ahc.sa.gov.au

The 6th Creek Catchment Group (SCCG) is an environmental action group in the Adelaide Hills South Australia. The Sixth Creek is the only permanent flowing watercourse in the Southern Mount Lofty Ranges catchment.

SCCG leads a number of rehabilitation projects along the riparian areas of Sixth Creek.

Friends and members of SCCG include landholders, community organisations and representatives from Government agencies with an interest in land management and protection of our local environment.

We gratefully acknowledge the support from the Adelaide & Mt Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, Forestry SA, National Parks and Wildlife SA and Adelaide Hills Council.

“Follow the ‘Sixth Creek Catchment Group’ on Facebook and please come along and join one of our working bees. The top end are generally the second Saturday morning of the month and the lower Sixth Creek on the third Saturday morning.”

SA Country Womens Association Uraidla & Districts Meeting

The SACWA Uraidla and District Branch welcome you to come along and join in for a sprinkle of good cheer with a dusting of laughs.

Join us 1st Tuesday of every month (no meetings in December and January).

SACWA is the largest women’s service organisation in South Australia.  It needs you to ensure it can continue to grow and provide valuable assistance to the community.

Joining a branch offers lots of opportunities to learn new skills, build friendships and give back to the community – whilst having plenty of fund along the way!

As a member of SACWA you will also be part of a global organisation – Associated Country Women of the World.
